Poinsettia Heights
Poinsettia Heights is a neighborhood in the Central section of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and its boundaries are west of Federal Highway (US 1) , north of Sunrise Boulevard and adjacent to the neighborhoods of Lake Ridge and Middle River Terrace. The original development, called “North Ridge” was built by Gill construction Company right after World War 11 in the 1940’s and early 1950’s. The north and most preferred area in Poinsettia Heights borders on the South Fork of the Middle river across from Wilton Manors. Many homes here have private docks. There are two fixed bridges; one is Federal Hwy and the other is Sunrise Boulevard.
Poinsettia Heights is a quiet and unassuming neighborhood that, due to existing regulations, is zoned for single family residents and allows townhomes and condo only along the two main thoroughfares. Two schools are located within the neighborhood (Sunrise Middle School and Bennett Elementary School.) Shopping can be done along U.S. 1 and its East side location. Homes generally range from 1,100 to 1,800 square feet (370 m2).
